Why did I read this?   I read the first book in the series, The Paper Magician, and decided to read the rest of the series.

Ceony Twill continues her apprenticeship under Magician Thane as a Folder.  She and those close to her have by threatened a couple of corrupt magicians.  She has been told to leave the pursuit of the bad guys to the Bureau of Criminal Affairs, but it is not in her nature to let others bear her burden what she believes are her affairs.  She  takes on the bad guy on  her own and makes a discovery that will change her life and the life of those around her.
